Treat your interiors with a very special rug, a piece of art that has deservingly found its place into the Museum of Modern Art’s permanent collection. In November 1985, Arthur Drexier, the Museum’s director announced the entry of this uneven, thick and comfortable rug in the collection, a rug inspired by the magic of the cobblestoned streets in the Greek Archipelago islands. It was 1976 when Lucien Vlerick, the president of B.I.C. Carpets at the time, was struck by the soft-hued, gently-rounded uneven stones that were to inspire the creation of this iconic piece that upgrades any setting.
