Α refined association of different authentic natural materials is what makes this wall covering a unique art piece. Capiz shells, or “glass oysters” found in the Philippines, are polished and added, in tiny segments, on a one-by-one woven backing that is afterwards cut into strips. The strips are then woven on handlooms by skilled artisans, and sometimes they are even interwoven with bakbak, that is the bark of the banana tree. How more close to nature can you get?
